Starting Application Analysis Automatically
For your convenience, you can configure the Intel® GPA Monitor settings to automatically start analyzing any launched application, or to switch between several applications running on your machine. To modify the settings, do the following:
- Click the Intel® GPA Monitor icon in the taskbar notification area and select Preferences….
- In the Preferences… dialog box select the Auto-detect launched applications check box and click OK.
After this setting, whenever any D3D application starts, Intel® GPA will attach to that process and Intel® GPA System Analyzer HUD will be enabled. The tool automatically displays metrics as an overlay on the application window.
The icon representing the Intel GPA Monitor looks different, depending on whether this option is enabled or not .
You must have Administrator rights to enable this option.
- All open graphics and D3D applications are listed in the Analyze Application dialog window.
Using this option may result in unexpected application crashes. Where possible, use the manual approach described in Launching an Application.
However, if you cannot use the manual approach, enable Auto-detect launched applications just before you run your game, then disable it immediately after your analysis with the Intel® GPA System Analyzer HUD.
